(More customer reviews)This is a fantastic item for a continuous ink system on a Brother printer. This printer (MFC-5895CW) is a real ink hog using the standard ink cartridges. Very pleased with the purchase!
Easy to install, works well. Instructions on the disk that came with the equipment did not cover my printer, but the seller had a video on their website that showed the installation.

(More customer reviews)The brother ink cartridges are too expensive to keep up with for me due to frequent and high-volume printing. Purchased these to help reduce costs. They work, but the first 20 or so pages had ink spots in random places when printing - most disturbing were the red and blue spots on what was supposed to be grayscale printing. I cleaned multiple times, probably 15, to get it to stop, and it finally did after a while. The color is slightly off with cyan, I don't know why, but forget about printing photos with these inks. As a general utility, it is fine, but if you are interested in fine prints with color-match, this is probably not your best choice.

It's worth my time writing about it because I should give the engineer some prop for doing a good job.
The CISS is well built and the manual well written.
The box seems cheap, but it's inside that counts.
The installation is simple.

I was very happy to find that my fears were unfounded. I had watched the installation videos and had no trouble doing it myself. I've been using the printer for a month now and have had no problems with the ink supply. I highly recommend the product.

(More customer reviews)I was very hesitant to buy this product first. Couldn't find any links on how to fill ink and it clearly says no tools required. Once I got it was a very easy to fill the ink and the results were amazing. Highly satisfied.
Procedure to fill the ink in Brother MFC-240C
(1) Use a small knife to cut the paper on the bottom of the catridge. In addition run it across all edges so that it's easy to open the catridge. Make sure you don't run too deep into the cover since it's just plastic sheet protecting the ink inside the catridge.
(2) Open the small round white cover (one that projects outside of the catridge and has no straw in between) which has the black rubber in it using the knife. Remove the very small filter inside the white cover as well.
(3) Start filling ink in that small hole and keep pressing the plastic cover as well. This will push the air inside the plastic cover and absorb the ink. Make sure you don't push too hard else the ink will splash. Repeat this step until it's full.
(4) Put the small filter back and the small white cover with black rubber. Close the catridge. The printer immediately picks it up and starts printing as new.

(More customer reviews)DON'T BUY THIS!!!!The picture clearly shows cartriges, but I did not recieve them. I recieved ink in bottles with a regular cap, a pair of bits to drill holes, 4 syringes and needles, a set of little plugs that don't fit with the drill bits supplied, and instructions that refered to set screws I didn't get. If I wanted to drill my existing cartriges, I would have gotten a kit for that. Overall a piss poor description, and a over priced product.

(More customer reviews)To start - I am a staunch advocate for CIS! But let's get down to the brass tacks! I've used CIS on much larger machines, and highly satisfied. So when I saw one available for my Brother MFC 6490 - I watched the videos, read the reviews, I'm sold on the idea. I placed the order.
Ratings: 1) the order was shipped pronto - 5 stars. 2)did the manufacturer put these cartridges in my printer? No. 0 Stars.
Just because the cartridge number is the same, doesn't mean that the physical characteristics of the various machines are identical.
I installed the cartridges per instructions - but the tab that sticks up on the 4th cartridge that activates the door trigger (a) is in the wrong place, and (b) didn't even reach the cabinet of the printer. Then the real problem raised its ugly head - I put a soft stick in the door trigger to test the cartridges - the printer didn't load any ink from the black cartridge, even though it had clicked into place.
To summarize - Vendor 5 stars, Manufacturer 0 (5 stars for concept, 0 for testing)

(More customer reviews)This is a great way to get out from under the oppressive cost of ink cartridges. I have recommended them to many people now including family. Great product, It works just like advertised. You really need to get one of these, but it is defiantly better to have separate print heads and cartridges when using this product, otherwise you have to clean the print heads that are attached to the cartridges. If they are separate, you only have to replace the print head when the print quality is noticeably poorer.
