(More customer reviews)First, let me say that this cartridge installed and works perfectly in my Brother HL-5240 printer. I can't tell any difference from the previous toner cartridges that I've used.
The main problem with these is the way the Brother printers detect that the toner cartridge is empty. There is a little window on the side of the cartridge that is blocked by toner - when the printer can see through that window it assumes the toner is out and will no longer print. The problem is that once the toner goes below the level of the window, I can still get a good 1000 or more pages out of the cartridge.
What I do is to wait until the printer says it's empty and then I pull out the cartridge and put a small piece of tape over the window so I can use the rest of the toner. This trick works perfectly to let me get the maximum use from the cartridge; and I also know when to go out and get another cartridge for when the current one really runs out. I've done this with my last 2 cartridges from this printer and it's actually pretty obvious when the toner really does run out.
Anyway, I thought I'd throw that tip in here for users of these toner cartridges. This Brother printer has worked great for me, and these remanufactured toners from Amazon are another way to save a bit more money on supplies for the printer.
